What are the Juvéderm™ ULTRA Formulations?
Juvéderm™ ULTRA comes in three formulations for more natural-looking, customizable results:

What is Juvéderm™?
Juvéderm™ is a dermal filler that is made from hyaluronic acid (HA) gel: a naturally occurring substance in your body that plays a vital role in hydrating your skin and replenishing its natural volume. Juvéderm™ injectable gel employs its unique manufacturing process to provide the highest concentration of cross linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available hyaluronic acid dermal filler for long lasting results. This process also creates a smooth consistency gel that flows consistently and easily into your skin and provides a smooth, natural looking result.
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
The most popular and frequently used fillers are from the family of hyaluronic acid gels. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. Juvéderm™ contains the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid currently available in an injectable filler, and this, combined with HA cross-linking, has been hypothesized to increased longevity. Juvederms’™ propriety manufacturing process yields a gel that is smoother in consistency than other HA fillers, which utilize a gel-particle suspension. The smoother injection characteristics of Juvéderm™ allow use of smaller needles and less pressure to inject, for a more comfortable treatment.
How does the Juvéderm™ procedure work?
Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a non-surgical, minimal downtime treatment for facial lines frequently performed at Fiala Aesthetics Medical Spa in Orlando. First, the soft tissue of your face will be examined to assess the depth and location of your wrinkles. Then careful injections are made into the multiple sites that you have agreed upon during your consultation, filling the valley benath the wrinkle. The Juvéderm™ is injected directly into your skin in tiny amounts with an ultrafine needle. Pain is minimized with topical numbing cream or local anesthesia (if necessary) or application of ice. After making multiple injections, pressure is applied and then the area is massaged to ensure proper placement. The procedure is simple and convenient, taking approximately 15 minutes. Results are immediately apparent, and can last up to one year. In some cases, follow-up visits are needed to touch-up the administered areas for improved results. Juvéderm™ temporarily fills in and the targeted wrinkles and folds on your face.
What is the recovery like with Juvéderm™?
With Juvéderm™, there is minimal recovery or downtime. For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure. Also avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve and/or alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize the risks of temporary bruising at the treatment sites. Bruising can occur after any cosmetic injection and may last from a few days to a couple of weeks. Camouflage makeup may be needed to cover bruising, and other treatments such as Arnica may be recommended. After your treatment, some temporary injection-related reactions may occur, including redness, firmness, swelling, or bumps. Studies have shown that these are usually mild to moderate in nature and clear up on their own in seven days or less. If you experience swelling at the injection site, you can apply an ice pack for a brief period and makeup may be applied directly after your treatment. You may be aware of the filler at first but this will pass quickly. As soon as the swelling subsides, the results of your treatment will be apparent. Your wrinkles, folds, and hollows will be significantly reduced and they may even be erased. All possible complications will be discussed in detail during your initial consultation.
What are the benefits of Juvéderm™?
You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need just one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing. Results vary and since correction is temporary, supplemental “touch up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.
